How To Set Up EP Scheduling

In most production businesses, EP Scheduling plays a very important role in the planning and production process. Though this application is not pre-installed in most computers or laptops upon purchase, this software can be downloaded or purchased. However, even after having the application installed, certain set up is still required before it can be used.

To know how you can set up EP Scheduling, follow the instructions below.

* Materials that you will need:
o Computer or laptop
o Internet connection
o EP Scheduling
o Credit card
* Get EP Scheduling. If you still do not have a copy of the EP Scheduling application on your computer, you can purchase a CD installer or search for an installer online. If you are lucky, you may be able to find a free installer for download. If it requires a fee, use your credit card to purchase. Download the installer and run it on your computer.
* Launch EP Scheduling. After installing the EP Scheduling application, double click on the icon to launch it. From the menu bar, click on “Preferences” button. This will present a list of menu items to choose from. Click on the “Auto Save” menu. A pop-up window will be displayed. In the auto save time interval field, type the time in minutes that you want the system to automatically save your work. This is a very important feature as it can save your work if you fail to save it and an application crash happens. Save the changes made. This will take effect immediately.
* Configure the lighting. After saving the changes from the previous step, you will be directed back to the EP Scheduling main window. This time, click on “Design” from the menu tab. By default the following options are available for use: interior and exterior, interior day, exterior day, interior night, and exterior night. These are pretty much easy to understand especially if you are into adjusting the lighting during production.
* Configure the background. It is best to remove the default background colors of both the exterior and interior columns so it would not be confusing when you are doing the strips later on. If you do not want to remove the background color completely, choose a lighter color instead for all the columns. Available colors are found in the lower right portion of the screen.
* Lay out the text. Choose a text color that works best with the background. Make sure it is easy to read so adjust the font size as well. Also try using the different fonts available. Where you place the text is also important, so take some time to plan the layout well.

EP Scheduling is a very handy application and its default templates and strip boards make it really easy to use.

Do not be afraid to play around with the configuration and colors. Playing around will actually help you find the best settings and color combination that will work best for your strip. Just keep the scenes in mind to have a better understanding of the needs of production. And do not forget to save your work!
