How To Improve Page Rank for a Blog

Blog, a word combined from two words, web log, is a kind of website usually written by an individual in writing about the latest news, events, or any other topic that interests him. Readers can leave comments on each entry on what they think about the blog, their reactions on the topic and just about anything that they want to say to the blogger. A blog combines text, images, videos and links to other blogs that further enhances its content. It is also called an online diary, because this is where bloggers share their daily activities, events and whatever things that happen in their lives.

PageRank is used by Google to determine a blog’s importance. A blog’s PageRank is based on the number of links that the page has, as well as the PageRank providing the links. Other factors that influence a blog’s PageRank is the number of visits to the page and the importance of the search words. It also tests to see how often a web page is updated. If you have a blog and you want it to end at the top of the search results, read on.

* Choose topics that are up to date. Write about recent news and events and express your views. Other pages will link to your page, which greatly increases your page ranking.
* Think of a good name for your blog. It must be unique, but at the same time, use words that can be easily searched. The faster that your blog can be searched, the higher your page’s ranking will be.

* Write your blog with a minimum of 250 words. Using less than the minimum number reduces your ranking greatly. Search engines usually tend to ignore blogs that are very short, so keep in mind to put enough content to your entry.
* Update your old posts. Since getting a higher ranking involves updating your old posts, it is wise to revisit them and add more to the entry.
* Use a list. Instead of writing paragraphs and telling a story about your blog, list down the things that you want to convey to the reader. Lists and instructions are very famous these days in the blogging community.
* Associate your previous posts with the new ones. Include the old posts to the new ones that you will write that have the same subject theme. You can link the old post to the new so that readers can go back to your old post and read about it as well.

A search engine pays attention to the number of times you update your blog and its links. Maintaining and cleaning up your web page of unimportant and dead end links increases your page ranking. Write about things that are up to date that interest the majority of blog readers. Talking about mundane and irrelevant things in your web page will decrease your page ranking as no one will be encouraged to read on a topic that does not pique their interest.
