How To Get Free Web Access

The availability of Internet and access to various websites are two of the most important innovations. There are millions of information that are available in the Internet. Today, more and more individuals can attest to the value of having access to Internet. The proliferation of social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace increased the demand for immediate Internet access.

Unfortunately, installing your own high speed Internet access at home can be pricey. Don't worry; there are numerous ways on how you can access the web without having to pay for anything. Here are some ways to do it:

* Visit libraries. Libraries are no longer limited to printed materials. Most modern libraries have computer stations that have access to the Internet. If you are still in school, you can visit the library in between subjects.
* Check your laptop for Wi-Fi capability. You can refer to your manual to check. If your laptop does not have an existing modem, have one installed, as this will come handy. This requires a one-time inexpensive installation. Ask your local service center.
* If you have a mobile phone, or any other gadget that has a Wi-Fi capability, that could do the trick.
* Check out various places, which are considered “hot-spots.” A “hot-spot” indicates that they offer free web access. Most shops have signage on their doors if they offer free Wi-Fi access. Coffee shops, delis, restaurants and hotel lobbies usually have free Wi-Fi access. Order a cup of coffee and surf all you want.

* Search on-line on various “hot-spots” near your place. Remember theses spots and try accessing them when you’re in the area.
* Set your laptop or Wi-Fi capable gadget into automatic search mode. This will enable you to catch any signal along your way.
* Ask friends and family members if you can use their computers. If they have installed Internet access in their homes, offer to bring along your own laptop so you don’t need to bother them too much.

There you go. You should be able to pick up a tip or two in order to access free Internet. Courtesy calls that you need to order a cup of coffee for every hour that you stay in a coffee shop. Be careful in turning your cellular phones or any other gadget into automatic Wi-Fi search as this can drain your battery faster. If you happen to encounter a password locked Wi-Fi access in restaurants or coffee shops, you can ask the password from the attendants. Ask courteously if their Wi-Fi access is free. Be wary of using public computers. Make sure you log-out in personal accounts such as electronic mail and on-line banking sites. The succeeding user might be able to access personal information that can be used against you. Also, do not try to access restricted sites. Most public computers have their firewalls installed; these protect computers from getting unwanted viruses. Do not attempt to access porn sites or download anything from unknown sites.
