How to Make a Contact Group on iPhone

Users of the Apple iPhone can experience mobile music, movies, pictures and Internet web browsing all on one device in addition to normal phone functionality. Users can also manage their calendars, email accounts, and address book from the device or on their computer. Organizing and making contact groups is easily handled on the iPhone.
1

Plug the dock connector end of the USB sync cable into your iPhone and the other end into an available USB port on your computer.
2

Run iTunes if it does not start automatically.
3

Click the iPhone icon located under the "Devices" list located in the left window pane. Select the "Info" tab and click the check box located next to "Sync contacts with." Click the double arrows and select "Outlook" from the drop-down menu. Click "Sync" to transfer your iPhone contacts to Microsoft Outlook.
4

Run Microsoft Outlook and locate the "Contacts" entry under the "Personal Folders" list. Right-click on the entry and select "New Folder." Type a name for your new group and click "OK." Drag and drop the contacts you want to be in your new group and repeat for any additional groups.
5

Go back to the iTunes window and click the "Info" tab. Scroll to the "Advanced" set of options at the bottom of the window and click the check box next to "Contacts." This will replace your iPhone contacts with the new groups you just created. You will not lose any individual contacts if you performed the sync in Step 3.
6

Check the results on your iPhone by starting your "Contacts" app. Touch the "Groups" button at the top left of the window to view your new groups.
