How to Make a Pre-Diabetic Dog Tag

Medical dog tags are a set of military-style tags that list the wearer's pre-existing medical conditions and instructions on what to do in the event of a medical emergency written on them. If you have a medical condition such as allergies, a bad heart, diabetes or epilepsy that can render you immobile or unconscious, a medical dog tag can be useful in alerting paramedics to your condition. Providing strangers with this information can save your life.

1
Remove the paper from the identification tag. Write down your medical condition on the piece of paper. Make sure to write down the treatment of the condition as well, for example, if you carry an epi-pen in your purse or backpack or if you have pills that you must take. For pre-diabetes the treatment is weight loss and controlling your diet. Include the contact details for your doctor and a friend, spouse or relative. Insert the paper back into the tag.
2
Thread the chain or string through the hole in the tag. Stick the medical ID sticker on the outside of the tag's plastic casing so that people don't mistake it for a piece of fashion jewelry.
3
Put the necklace around your neck and wear it at all times.
