How To Use Freelance Bidding Sites

Freelance services are an easy way to earn extra cash. There are many ways where you can offer your services, and one of these ways is online freelance bidding sites. Here is how you can use these sites and get started in earning money.

* Decide on your specialty. Most freelance bidding sites will require that you specify your specialty. If web designing is your forte, you will get the chance to see jobs that are specifically for web designing. Same goes if writing is your specialty. You will see jobs that fit writing. Every category like web design or writing has several subheadings. Writing, for example, will have categories such as blogging, translation, web content writing, copyediting, ghost writing and article writer. These are only a few areas where you can write if writer is your main specialty job.
* Choose a site where you will work. Many sites are offering freelance bidding services but not all are reliable. Some reliable sites are Elance, Guru, Get A Freelancer, and others. With Guru, having great resume and many good references are important in order for you to get a job. Same goes for Elance, however, with Elance, you can make more money. For Get A Freelancer, money is not that great because of the many available foreign freelancers, but this is a site that is the best to try when getting started.
* Make your profile. Making your profile great is important because this is the basis for most employers when they choose a freelancer. Tell information about yourself, what you do whether you are working or a student, and add what employers can expect from you. You may check other freelancer profiles with the same specialty as yours so you can have an idea of what to put. Go over what they put in their profile so you will not miss out on some important details. Create a profile that is as professional as it can be but make sure you keep it realistic.

* Have an online messenger available. Having one is beneficial as many employers want someone who they assess or interview. They may ask you questions regarding what you can offer them and whether you’re available when they like to make changes or when they like to discuss about how to make your work better.
* Decide on your rate. If you are a writer, you may want to know the normal rate per eBook or article then decide your rate. If you are just getting started, charging less money may be helpful because without references, it will be harder for you to get hired. Employers may consider hiring you if they see your rates as competitive. If you are more experienced and you have a lot of positive feedbacks, consider charging more compared to less experienced freelancers.
* Meet your deadlines. It is very important that you meet the commitments you made. Be organized and submit your work on time. If you say you can finish a job in two weeks, submit it by then. Being prompt with your work is very important for all employers. If an emergency arises and you may not meet your deadline, be honest and tell your employer the reason.

Be sure to make your work worth the pay that the employer will give. If you have questions regarding the job, do not hesitate to ask your employer as they will appreciate you making it clear than you double guessing whether or not you are making the correct thing.
