How To Get a Free Email Account

You don’t have an email account yet? Getting your own – with no payment required – is so easy to do there’s no reason why you shouldn’t do it right away! Here are some of the sites you could go to so you could get your own free email account.

* Yahoo.com. This is easily one of the most instantly recognizable websites worldwide. The email they provide is generally highly reliable and if you sign up for an email you will be given a Yahoo ID that you can use for Yahoo Messenger (or for instant messaging) as well. The best thing about getting your email account at Yahoo is that it gives you unlimited email storage; some critics however note that Yahoomail can be a little slow in downloading attachments or even showing simple email messages at times. To create your free email account at Yahoo, simply go to the Yahoo homepage, click on “Mail” at the Yahoo! Sites displayed at the left portion of the screen. You will be then led to a page where one of the options is for you to “Create a New Account”. Simply fill out the form completely and then type the security code displayed (this will prove that you are not a spammer or an automation). Then, click on the last button, “Create My Account,” and you’re all set!
* Gmail.com. This is another highly reliable email service provider that you could try out. It is powered by Google. Gmail offers more than six gigs of email storage, and it is generally very fast and efficient. Like Yahoo, it also has instant messenger capabilities; however, you’d have to have your Gmail open before you can access this service (with Yahoo you can close your email, or even close the instant messaging box, and you can still receive messages). Simply go to the Gmail.com website, click on “Create an Account”, fill out the form and then accept the terms of service.

* AOL Mail. This is yet another site where you could easily create a free account. Filling up the form takes a little less than a minute, and because it’s not as widely-used as Yahoomail and Gmail, it’s more probable that you’d be able to get your preferred email address (because nobody has dibs on it yet). There are many themes that you could choose from to design your email page, and arguably they’re more fun and colorful than what Yahoo and Gmail offer. However, even if you don’t live in the United States you will have to think of a valid postal code from the US, just so you could create the account. It won’t get checked though, but it could be better if this email account could be compatible to your actual location.
* Hotmail.com. Powered by Windows, signing up for a Hotmail account will give you also access to an ID that you can use for chatting at Windows Messenger. Like Yahoo, this account is big on social networking, and it gives you the opportunity to organize and file your messages efficiently.

There you have it! These are some of the top sites where you could enjoy a free email account. They’re really highly efficient and even fun to use, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t try them out for yourself. By all means, try them all: just remember all your passwords! Good luck, and hope this helped.
