How To Get a Free PayPal Account

With the growing popularity of Internet shopping, it is important that consumers have the opportunity to safely and securely make purchases online. PayPal, the leading secure Internet marketplace, has made this possible, and is the easiest, safest way to conduct your web transactions. For anyone who is a frequent Internet shopper, a PayPal account is a must. Setting up your PayPal account is quick, easy, and best of all, it's absolutely free.

Your first step in setting up a PayPal account is to visit their website, located at paypal.com, and from there, clicking the "sign up" link located at the top center of the page.

Following this link, you will be led to a page which asks you which type of account you would like to register. Your options are personal, premier, and business. A personal account is best suited for individuals who like to shop online, and nothing more. A premier account takes this one step further and is best suited for those who both shop and sell, most commonly chosen by eBay users. The business account is for those who are signing up at PayPal representing an online merchant with a company of group name.

Once you have chosen your desired account type, you will be redirected to the main sign up page. Here you will be asked to fill out all personal information, including name, address, phone number, etc. Be sure to use truthful and valid information when signing up or you will face problems in the future when using PayPal. After completing this form, click the button on the bottom that reads "agree and create account," being sure to read the PayPal Terms and Privacy Policy prior to submitting.

Once you have successfully signed up, you may now log in. Upon doing so, there are a few things you should take care of. Firstly, make sure any introductory verifications are completed (phone number, address, or other). Secondly, take a minute to read through the help center. Though not necessary, it helps to familiarize yourself with PayPal prior to utilizing its services. Next, navigate to the profile section and enter any additional e-mail addresses, physical addresses, bank accounts, or credit/debit cards you would like to associate with your account. It is useful to complete this step now as you won't have to do it later when processing purchases. Linking a bank account makes it easier and more convenient to transfer funds from your PayPal account to your bank account and vice versa.

Congratulations! You have successfully set up your PayPal account. You are now free to roam the online marketplace and no longer have to worry about the security of your personal information when making purchases.

Happy shopping!
