How To Remove Malicious Adware

Adware is a malicious computer software that can harm your computer if not treated appropriately. Since adware refers to advertisement-supported computer software, there are countless websites these days that have adware. Without the computer user knowing it right away, his computer may be infected with the adware in no time especially if the adware has the ability to install itself into the computer that viewed the website where it came from. Unless you have a preventive measure that blocks the presence and infiltration of adware, your computer is vulnerable to getting adware.

The worst aspect of adware is its gathering of personal information about the user and his computer. Have you experienced receiving unsolicited e-mails to your inbox from a sender you do not know? The presence and infiltration of adware commonly results in the collection of your personal information and the addition of this information to different marketing lists. The very idea of having malicious adware on your computer is frustrating. But then again, you can do something about it. By means of knowing how to remove malicious adware, you can freely surf the net and work on your computer without the fear of being spied on.

You are going to need:

* Windows installation disc and data storage devices like an external hard drive or writable CD

Next, do the following steps:

* Run your usual anti-virus program, making sure you select "Run Full Scan"
* If you don't have a anti-virus program installed, there is a tool you can download which is free for Windows users.
* Check out the Microsoft website, you should find a Resources section.
* Click on the Resources tab and look for a program to download called the "Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool".
* Open the file just downloaded and follow the simple instructions you will see on the screen.
* Downloading and running this program may pick up many of the common malicious adware and even some viruses that your anti-virus software may not pick up.
* Review the report that is produced by the program and take the suggested actions.

If your problems persist:

* Try restoring your system to an earlier point when you didn't have the adware problems,
* Try different malicious adware removal programs to see if you get different results,
* Seek professional help from a reputable computer repairer,
* Backup your computer completely, un-install all programs and then re-install them from the original installation discs.

Please be aware that running a full scan of the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal program and some other programs may take several hours, so make sure you plan on doing it when you have enough time to spare.
