When you have entered your password, you will be given access to the FTP site and you can just browse as normal the files that are uploaded there. Remember that you can also contribute to the library of files there and it is not just a one way distribution of information. Do not share the password of the FTP site until you are sure that the owner is ok with you sharing the information.

It is as easy as that! There will be no need to install a separate program that will allow you to create your own access to an FTP site. FTP sites are useful for transporting vast amounts of information. If you are turning over documentation from one group to another, this would be very helpful. If you are submitting applications or other big chunks of information such as photographs and edited videos, then this would also be the way to go. Just make sure that you have enough space in your hosting solution for all the information that you are storing in the FTP site. If there are items that you know will not be needed anymore then you can just move them to an archive folder so that when you need to delete some things or remove them from the FTP site to be stored somewhere, you know which files are easily disposable.
